Slice of Life #30

Elephants

Over spring break I got to ride elephants on their bare backs, and bathe them in a river. First we were taught different commands and how to get onto the elephant. Some of the commands the we learned, were "yood"= stop, "quaa"= turn right, "sigh"= turn left, "bai"= go, "toy"= go back... Once we got on, we got to feed the elephants fruit and corn! It was really fun, My family went to Thailand with Olivia Alum's family, and we rode an elephant together. We got to steer the elephant around, and into the water. We were tossed cut up pieces of sugar cane witch were soaked in natural soap, and then we scrubbed the elephants with it. We got to sit on them while we washed them. I really enjoyed this experience and hope to do it again.

Bubble Gum

Over spring break I got this little squishy guy at the market. He is a pink balloon filled with flower, with googly eyes and strings of yellow yarn for the hair. His name is Bubblegum. Bubblegum is very squishy and and cute. He is a model and a surfer, and has entered a competition called, Asia's Next Top Squishy. I, Phoebe as his manager, hope for the best of luck in his soon coming competition. I am so glad that I got him and will continue him modelling career throughout his life.

Easter

Colorful eggs, chocolate bunnies,
sweet, squishy, peeps,
and lots of jelly beans!
Wake up in my pjs and come running down the stairs,
searching for the shinny, plastic,
eggs filled with delicious, little deserts.
Collecting more and more candy filled eggs,
as my basket fills up with colorful ovals.
Every one is happy, with smiles on their faces
and joy in their hearts. This is a great holiday for all.

Slice Of Life #27

Gratitude

Dear Family,

I miss waking up with the sight/smell of Mickey mouse pancakes and bacon, when I am at Grandma and G-daddy's house. I miss the cold icy frozen berries, and the big bubble baths I used to take at Nanny and Geepa's house. I miss eating sugary cereal and watching people have hot dog eating contests at my aunt, uncle, and cousins' house. I miss shopping with my aunt in my favorite city, New York, and making songs in my uncle's recording studio. I miss the family reunions with the barbecue and the giant box of cheese balls. I thank my family for all of the great memories that they have made with me. Thank you.

I would like to thank my whole family for making such a positive impact on my life. All of their different personalities bring me joy.  I want to thank my grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles, cousins, sisters, parents, and all of my pets for making me who I am today, and influencing me to be a better person. Thank you for accepting me for who I am and supporting my good choices, and telling me when I have made bad choices. Thank you for giving me opportunities and lots of love.

Love,

Phoebe

Slice Of Life #26

Up

Up up and away from the crowd
lifting higher and higher off the ground
lugging the big house behind them
holding on to just the thin strings of balloons
coming out of the chimney.
Adjusting his hearing aid,
he steered the house to the right
with russell at his side they
left a city full of amazed people
and looked forward to an exciting journey ahead...
